The xfonts-scalable package does not manipulate the /etc/fonts/fonts.conf file in any way. Also, the xftcache program is in the xbase-clients package, not xfont-scalable. I need some help discerning what specifically you feel the bug is: 1) is it your contention that there are bad fonts in the xfonts-scalable package? 2) is it your contention that the /etc/fonts/fonts.conf file has been misconfigured? 3) is it your contention that the xftcache program is buggy? For what it's worth, the xftcache program *is* known to be buggy, and no longer exists in Xft 2.x, having been superseded by fontconfig. -- G.
