So... I edited the 'loaderdiff' to apply cleanly to 4.2.1 and added relocation 79. This makes the server start up cleanly. However, it doesn't actually *work* -- things head south after Radeon decides to load int10. 4.3 actually does work, at least well enough for my tastes. Given that, I don't have too much enthusiasm for trying to debug 4.2.1 further.
