Keyboard and mouse didn't react on my action. M-C-fX and M-C-Backspace didn't work too. But it seems my computer was still alive because I was able connect to it from a remote host. I did it and a top of top looked like this 24622 root 20 -10 326M 24M 10392 R < 99.2 2.4 38:22 XFree86 ^^^^ After I killed this process, my work station became absolutely unusable and I rebooted it. I'm not sure but it seems to me this happened because of broken X Font Server. -- System Information Debian Release: 3.0 Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux cheusov 2.4.18 #2 ×òâ Èþë 3 23:49:38 EEST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=ru_RU.cp1251, LC_CTYPE=ru_RU.cp1251 Versions of packages xfs depends on: ii debconf 1.0.32 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.2.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii zlib1g 1:1.1.4-1 compression library - runtime --------------------------------------- Received: (at 202251-done) by bugs.debian.org; 24 Jul 2003 20:26:02 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Jul 24 15:25:52 2003 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from dhcp065-026-182-085.indy.rr.com (redwald.deadbeast.net) [65.26.182.85] by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 19fmet-00044e-00; Thu, 24 Jul 2003 15:25:52 -0500 Received: by redwald.deadbeast.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id E7CC0643FD; Thu, 24 Jul 2003 15:25:50 -0500 (EST) Date: Thu, 24 Jul 2003 15:25:50 -0500 From: Branden Robinson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Bug#202251: xfs: X hangs up because of X Font Server Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="tWM9UXbZ96wBxVrF" Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mail-Copies-To: nobody X-No-CC: I subscribe to this list; do not CC me on replies.
