Yes. To be completely accurate, the version I was using with 4.2.1-6pre7v2 had all the above options *uncommented*, and I'm only inferring that removing them would also work; I think that's a safe assumption though. On the 4.2.1-6 side, I tried with and without the commenting out, both resulting in the error in the logs. Some more data: I first noticed this problem on a brand new box I was just installing Linux on. I found the new XFree86 ignoring my keyboard options, and found the error in the logs. I started wondering why my laptop didn't have this problem. At this point I noticed the different versions/sources of the XFree86 debs. I upgraded a few debs on the laptop, and it too then started to exhibit the problem. Now, I most definitely upgraded the "xlibs" deb on the laptop, but I'm not fully certain of the others. I know they were all directly XFree86 related, and according to the current installed deb versions, it would seem that the other two were "xlibs-dev" and "xbase-clients". This sounds about right, as I hazily recall upgrading about 3 debs. The other XFree86-related debs on the laptop are 4.2.1-5, or 4.2.1-3, hence not part of that upgrade. On the new box, of course, everything is 4.2.1-6. -- Maciej Kalisiak "A witty saying proves nothing." -- Fransua Voltaire [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.dgp.utoronto.ca/~mac GE/CS d- s++:+ a- C++(+++) ULAI++ P+++ L+++ E+++ W++ N- !w--- t+ !X-- R+ tv-- b+>++++ e>+++>++++ r+++ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
