Thanks for maintaining Debian's xlibs package.

I use it.

When I tried to upgrade xlibs to version 4.2.1-5 with "apt-get install",
it reported

    Unpacking replacement xlibs ...
    dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/xlibs_4.2.1-5_i386.deb (--unpack):
     trying to overwrite `/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults', which is also in package
groff
    [...]
    Errors were encountered while processing:
     /var/cache/apt/archives/xlibs_4.2.1-5_i386.deb

I'm using version 1.10-3 of groff.

The xosview package has the same conflict.

I seem to have worked around the problem with

    $ dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/xlibs_4.2.1-5_i386.deb

Thanks,
Kingsley

6.deb

You need to upgrade those packages (groff, xosview, and anything else
that ships the old app-defaults directory).

Upgrade anything in the list returned by:

$ dpkg -S usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults

to the version in Debian unstable (actually the versions in stable and
testing should be fine as well).
