Hi there, I've been running debian on a Sony Vaio laptop with the i830 graphics chipset for a while now, but to get X running on this machine I had to compile the 4.2 sources from CVS using the hacks detailed here: http://www.jongans.com/gateway1450.html - to get around the crap bios/stolen memory issue
Just recently though I found out: http://www.xfree86.org/~dawes/845driver.html that David Dawes has rewritten the i830 driver and commited it to CVS around 16th Sept. And I see here: http://people.debian.org/~branden/sid/i386/ that Branden's .deb packages are dated 26-Sep-2002 So I was just wondering from which xfree86 CVS date Branden's 4.2.1-0pre1v2 .deb packages are built from, and whether they would contain the new i830 driver already?
