While researching this question, I came across this:
$ ls -ld /etc/X11/fs
drwxr-xr-x 2 identd telnetd 4096 Nov 1 17:53 /etc/X11/fs
Hmm. More oddities:
$ ls -ld /etc/X11/xinit
drwxr-xr-x 2 root uucp 4096 Dec 2 21:37 /etc/X11/xinit
What on earth is causing these funky group owners?
(uid for identd-100, telnetd=101; gid for telnetd=101, uucp=10).
I'm getting curious. It sure is a good thing this box is firewalled
pretty heavily from the outside world. :)
