"rapth"? "rapth"? Where are you digging that up? This string doesn't
even appear in the XFree86 source tree.

My guess is that this "rapth" problem poisoned the well, since:

That's from the the i386 build, and there is nothing specific to any
processor types in the xc/config/util Imakefile.
