Not much grosser than providing a command (x-terminal-emulator) with
an undefined and variable set of options, and which is in fact a
symbolic link to a symbolic link... (yes, I am talking about the whole
alternatives system).
Of course, other solutions:
-To convince all the upstream developers to fix option conflicts.
(Yes, this is the Right Thing, but meanwhile...)
-To rely on the user-assisted command line wrapper under
/usr/man/... ;). No alternatives system is needed for that.
