* First of all I think going through debian-www/webwml is much too heavyweight. Changing something in the wiki takes minutes. Changing something via debian-www takes something between minutes and months, depending on available eyeballs, luck etc. - it's too much effort and waiting. So I'd suggest to completely move it off into the wiki. * There was some list of some sorts in the wiki, that was based on a form-like wiki page, that you could fill out, and once you submitted that form, that entry would get added to the list. Unfortunately I can't remember which page that was. But I think that would be something useful to maintain the Children's Distros page with. I *think* the page was maintained/programmed by Paul Wise, but I'm not sure, you might want to ping him.
