Your mockup looks to be quite well thought out, overall it looks pleasant and I like it! IHMO, on the front page the navigation menus on the left hand side and at the top are duplicating each other, which is a problem of the current website as well. The top navigation will also be easier to be identified if it can stand out from the rest of the page, I think the problem is because it shares the same background colour, so it doesn't look quite like a navigation menu.
