And as long as I remember (but I might remember wrong) the standard was on one whitespace in the English version. But anyhow, this should be consistent, the current DPN uses both conventions (i.e. single and double spaces), I don't mind which one is used. > 2/ Un the case there would be a english specific pb, smartchanges *MUST* be > used to avoid : > * disturbing translators for nothing > * the risk of outdating translation I always fix non-english translations as well, so no need to remind me (but I understand this, e.g. the recent DPN template switch was left as an exercise to the translators while it did not contain any local specific change). > So, that would be very nice of you to avoid this kind of commit :) (that > IMO includes commits to the english version only for esthetic code like > using <q> and so on) ???? But if you say so, I'll refrain from fixing the English version. Previously I assumed this was ok, as long as translations are fixed at the same time (which I'll do). And I also assumed that consistent and proper layout was desired in English as well, but I might be wrong on that. At least for DWN there used to be a QA for spelling, tags, layout etc, so if translators are frown from fixing those issues while noting them in their translation, I strongly suggest getting a good QA for the English version in place which will fix those issue instead. I'tt be a pitty if the English version will become the least "maintained".[1] Greetings Helge [1] At least the German team revisits "old" pages if translations are improved (e.g. better terms are found) or formatting errors are spotted (e.g. switching " -> <q>, -- -> –) -- Dr. Helge Kreutzmann [EMAIL PROTECTED] Dipl.-Phys. http://www.helgefjell.de/debian.php 64bit GNU powered gpg signed mail preferred Help keep free software "libre": http://www.ffii.de/
