As you can see in the list, many packages are never picked up. Another option would be to package it within your company and locate a Debian developer working in the same field who's willing to sponser the package (i.e. check for errors and upload it to the archive; see http://www.debian.org/devel/join/ - third paragraph from the bottom). There may be other/better options; I hope someone on this list will chime in if that's the case.
