Hi!
I commtted the acronyms.wm in templates a while ago.
It is now used by me the first time to remove a validation error in a
page, where <abbr> was used together with ID.
How are the acronmys used?
To include an acronym into your source, there must be two things:
A line
#use wml::debian::acronyms
and the acronym tag itself, here <acronym_LUG />
This will expand to
<acronym lang="en" title="Linux User Group">LUG</acronym>
We also could use abbr that way,, but there arre two problems:
- - there is no clear definition what the difference between both tags is
- - One non-Linux Browser which Debian people want to be supportet does
not support <abbr>
Hint for using acronyms directly (if not used often enought to
include in acronyms.wml):
- - use the form above
- - do not forget the lang attribute
- - never use Ids instead of title
If the dicts were included in debian main pages, it would also be
possible to link to there, to show more information and linked
translations.
greetings
Jutta
