-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I was recently trying to find out how to close a bug report that I sent. I reported the bug via "reportbug", and it was at first unclear to me whether and how I could interact with the bug tracking system -- I was first looking for a web interface, but there is apparently none.
On http://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control I then found out how I could close it, namely with the "close" instruction, but also that this instruction was deprecated. However, there was no other instruction that would close the bug. I decided to use this instruction nonetheless. Only later I found out that the page http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer also contains information on how to handle bug reports, and indeed a way to close bug reports that are not deprecated. Apart from a missing beginner's guide that gives an overview that does not assume that one knows expressions like "NMU" or "BTS" by heart, it would be nice to have an explanation on how to close bug reports near the "close" command: Don't just tell people what not to do, tell them also what to do instead.
