It's a minor annoyance associated with the way the SELECTED works in the browser. Items can be placed on top without needlessly enforcing a SELECTED, and items that are on the top do not need to force the browser to override the user-selected state. For instance. If I change the package selection from stable to unstable, after I search and hit back, I have to rechange it to stable. Like I said, it's minor.
