I attempted to look at the current table of contents of the distribution for the Alpha chip. My hard drive got very busy, like my system was being tampered with. My Netscape was frozen, I could not kill X11. I went to an alternative terminal, response was very very slow. I shut the system down. I suspect someone is playing dirty tricks.
