Whereas I previously found the following messages (through an unrelated path):

which indeed made me try to dig further with your engine in the first place ...
BTW: External search engines (google, altavista) report links to e.g.
http://lists.debian.org/debian-x-0012/msg00122.html
(i.e. lacking "debian-x/2000/" and "20"; predating a reorganization ?)
May be both issues are related.
