We currently have the same info in the www archive as in the FTP archive
and some packages (doc-debian for example). We should find a way to provide
information common to some packages (doc-debian and doc-debian-es, for example
I just submitted a bug to the latest one) in a semi-automatic way.
Common information includes:
- bug refcards
- information on bug access and reporting
- mailing list information
- social contract
- constitution
- FAQ (although this is part of the DDP and currently the Spanish FAQ is not in
the CVS).
We should have a way to handle fixes to this information that do not require
hand editing (as I just did for doc-debian-es) and enables us to have
doc-debian-XXX (XXX any lang) available as soon as this items are translated and
up-to-date in the WWW CVS area (the FAQ aside).
This semi-automatic method could handle also publishing in the FTP archive, as
bug #64278 suggests.
That way, instead of having
doc-debian maintainer updates info, notifies www and publishes in FTP
(dpkg-distaddfile?)
www maintainer updates info (mailing lists) and notifies doc-debian
www translators to XXX translate info and notify (or build) doc-debian-XXX
we could have:
www maintainers update info in Debian CVS -
www translator translate info in Debian CVS |---> doc-debian packages
generated, publish FTP
doc-debian maintainer updates info in Debian CVS -
