May be is this message the one that is misleading. What about changing it to say something like: "The last update on this page was 13:24 GMT Tue Nov 14. There are 1369 messages on this page." And include "Page N of M" at the end of the page. To help the user realize that there are more messages to see. The idea of touching all those thread files to have the same date just give me the creeps.
