Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Package: www.debian.org Version: N/A After being rather rudely treated by the tetex-bin maintainers, I gather this needs to be submitted here. If this is not the correct place, I apologize. The problem in a nutshell: The latest version of tetex-bin Depends: on libz1. The Packages page for it,[*] however, lists it as depending on zlib1g. I'm assuming that this translation is being done by the CGI script that generates the page (or when the page is updated server-side, as the case may be), on the premise that zlib1g Provides: libz1. The problem is that this is only true as of zlib1g 1:1.1.3-5; I had 1:1.1.3-2, so the install failed, with no obvious way of telling what was wrong. I respectfully submit, then, that this automatic libz1 -> zlib1g translation, at whatever stage it occurs, should include a mention this minimum version requirement. -sbigham [*] <URL:http://www.debian.org/Packages/frozen/tex/tetex-bin.html> --------------------------------------- Received: (at 58524-close) by bugs.debian.org; 29 Aug 2000 00:53:46 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Aug 28 19:53:46 2000 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from cibalia.gkvk.hr [::ffff:161.53.211.3] by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 13TZen-0002pz-00; Mon, 28 Aug 2000 19:53:46 -0500 Received: from joy by cibalia.gkvk.hr with local (Exim 2.05 #1 (Debian)) id 13TZhE-0002dT-00; Tue, 29 Aug 2000 02:56:12 +0200 Date: Tue, 29 Aug 2000 02:56:12 +0200 From: Josip Rodin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Closing :/ Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii User-Agent: Mutt/1.0pre2i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi, As we discussed earlier, your request is a bit too hard to implement, and the gain doesn't make it worthwhile, so I'm going to close the bug now.
