Package: www.debian.org Version: 20000306 Severity: wishlist Searching for e.g. lftp with the default options turns up the latest "stable" release, which in the case of lftp is from 1998 and one major version number ago. A new release is in "frozen" but there is no way to find out unless you happen to visit the ChangeLog or search again with non-default options.
Could the search results (the main page for the package) contain pointers to the newest "unstable" and "frozen" versions of the same packages, and vice versa, when such packages exist? This would eliminate one of my major frustrations with the packaging system. I might have issued an earlier bug report with a similar request. The idea to include forward pointers to newer versions from the latest "stable" version's information page is new, though.
