Since this list is waking up, I'll introduce myself.. Jay has given me CVS commit access because I've volunteered to sort out some web-pages for debian-sparc - this idea resulted from some discussion on the debian-sparc list, as there is something of a paucity of information about the port.
I have finished a first draft, now. Jay - is it OK to add and commit a 'sparc' directory (and concomitant changes to the root makefile), or do you have another directory structure in mind - e.g ports/sparc ?
