Hello, I think the scheduled downtime of Fort Collins hosts should have been announced on the front page of www.debian.org. Packages.debian.org is down so the package search pages are out of order on the main website, without any notice. I see that the news section is translated to all languages which takes a lot of time and effort, so I think it would be enough to create an English-only (like Security Advisories) or English-until-translated section for important announcements.
