Hey all! DebConf is the annual Debian Conference. It's an event that brings people together, and that can make a really big difference regarding your participation in the community, as it allows to put faces to names and fosters collaboration in a way that IRC can't really solve.
This year, DebConf15 takes place in Heidelberg, Germany, between August 15 and August 22. If you would like to be a part of DebConf but missed out on the original sponsorship signup deadline, you have two new opportunities! The first one is the diversity outreach campaign. This campaign is intended to bring people to DebConf that will broaden its scope and reach (translators, artists, people that have never attended DebConf before, people from countries where Debian has a small presence, and people from groups that are generally not well represented in DebConf). More information about this in this blog post: http://blog.debconf.org/blog/debconf15/2015-06-17_debconf15_diversity_sponsorship.dc The second one are travel grants done by Google. This is specifically for women in tech, that are either in academia or have a professional background in tech. You can read more about this here: https://www.google.com/edu/scholarships/google-travel-and-conference-grants/#!europe Feel free to communicate this info to any other people that you think would benefit from the opportunity. -- Besos, Marga -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-women-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
