-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 List members,
I just joined this list after finding it on some Debian website last night. I just installed Debian on my old Apple G4 PPC. I was searching for information from a PPC point of view when I found this women's list. Really, I have to say I got just a little bit excited. Women in computers isn't all that rare but women in Linux is much more so! I glanced through the profiles listed and realized quickly that the women here understand Linux very well.
I am new to Debian coming from the Red Hat distributions. And this is my first Linux install on a PPC. It appears that one of my first task is to build a custom kernel to support dual processors. I haven't build a kernel since the old 2.4 days on my server, and that was on x386 architecture. I should rather think that someone has already built such a kernel, but I don't know where to find one. There is a lot of Debian literature which I have been glancing through.
I didn't join this list seeking PPC assistance specifically. But rather to commingle with others of like mind. And it's always been a desire that one day I might join in projects and even get involved with some development. Although this isn't why I specifically joined the list either, but it would be cool if things worked out that way some day
Anyways, Greetings Kristen -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG/MacGPG2 v2.0.16 (Darwin) iEYEARECAAYFAk9GhdoACgkQF1wXlvLxlNh+qACdGyHkegf+w6CJhjOQW+BqI4An TE8AnjJcdXNIhsrmfjW1T4P/Ct8QI8dh =7dKN -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-women-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
