"Geeks Want Women" Pleeease. :( The last thing we want is anyone

It's a headline. At least it's truthful.
The media do more harm than good these days. Live with it.
(Leaving my MO of writing terse, harsh and ambiguous,
just to see what happens...)
You are better off living with it. Influencing the media to
the point where you have reasonable control is a lot of work!
Spending more effort on self-publishing is probably better.
"Geeks Want Women" is entirely true. It's just not a good
slogan to further D-W's cause. But that's not Techworld's
concern. The headline entices and annoys just like a tabloid
headline is supposed to do, to win eyeballs.
If you want to play the media, you have to humour them.
Putting up a foxy facade with a fair amount of cleavage
should do the trick. If you don't want that, prepare
for the occational damage control after headlines like
this one.
FWIW, I do think it's sad.
