Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Hello
Please someone package the game `Yo Frankie!' (http://www.yofrankie.org, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yo_Frankie!) by the Blender Institute, the makers of `Elephants Dream' (http://www.elephantsdream.org, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elephants_Dream) and `Big Buck Bunny' (http://www.bigbuckbunny.org, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Buck_Bunny) and also the folks that brought us Blender (www.blender.org), the versatile 3D modeller/renderer that's already in Debian. As was the case with their previous projects, their newest creation features captivating graphics, the kind of graphics that's not often found in Open Source gaming. What's more, all the data is available under a Creative Commons license. Many of the dependencies of yofrankie are already in Debian (Python, CrystalSpace, Blender, ...). There's a APT repository that's got some newer versions of the packages already in Debian plus some .deb packages of some other stuff that might be necessary to run yofrankie: http://b2cs.delcorp.org/index.php/Debian_Packages. The Blender Insitute hosts `Yo Frankie!' as a "Zero Install package" (see http://0install.net). A post of interest to prospective maintainers might be http://www.yofrankie.org/?p=185.
