I have heard wonderful things about rsyslog, and I decided to look at it hoping it would be sane. Additionally, the author of rsyslog enjoys hungarian notation (as seen in his code) which after having audited rsyslog is enough to make me not wish to use it (this does not mean rsyslog is bad, it just means I do not like it's design). So I started writing dsyslog, which is free of legacy code and is written in a style which is more agreeable to me. William
