Hi Sam and Daniel, indeed my package was meant to only build PIC static libraries. I took Christian Marillat's packages as a prototype. One thing I remember is that the x264 binary was not dynamically linked against the .so although I compiled with --enable-shared, so I finally built only the static version.
Sam, if you are also upstream for x264 and maintain x264-using packages, I am sorry that I have not contacted you about packaging the library.
