Hi folks, I'd like to get gnome-app-install in Debian ASAP, preferably under pkg-gnome co-maintenance. I would like to benefit of your efforts to Debianize the Ubuntu package, but there were newer versions of the package in Ubuntu addressing some of your TODOs mentionned in #391309 (at least the Python policy stuff).
Would you one of you two (or you two) be interested in being the official Debian maintainer(s) with the GNOME team as uploaders? Do you have time to prepare the package right now? I would like to import the package in pkg-gnome ASAP, perhaps starting with the Ubuntu version and merging any Debianization changes you did; if you're interested in maintaining this package, I can start with the import and give you commit rights to do the merging. Please let me know if you're not interested in maintaining the package; in all cases, I'm interested in any help to integrate the latest version of the package (0.3.26) with Debian.
