Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
* Package name : flightgear-atlas
Version : 0.3.0
Upstream Author : Atlas Developers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://atlas.sourceforge.net/
* License : GPL
Description : Atlas aims to produce and display high quality charts of
the world for users of FlightGear
A common request coming from flightgear users is to have some kind
of moving map to help with navigation when using flightgear. Atlas
provides just that. (I've suggested package name flightgear-atlas
and not atlas because the latter name is already used for a
linear algebra package in Debian).
See also the flightgear package already in Debian.
(From the project home page):
Atlas aims to produce and display high quality charts of the world for
users of FlightGear, an open source flight simulator. This is achieved
through two main parts: The map creator (simply called Map) and the
Atlas viewer.
The map creator takes scenery data from FlightGear and transforms it
into beautiful map pictures that can be viewed with any bitmap image
program that you might have installed or with the Atlas viewing
application.
The Atlas viewing application can be used for browsing your maps but can
also connect directly to FlightGear and display your aircrafts current
location on a so called moving map display.
Atlas is developed as open source under the GNU General Public License,
which basically means that the software is free. For more information on
the license, please read the full GNU General Public License.
DISCLAIMER
Atlas is NOT intended for real world navigation. Using it for
any other purpose than entertainment is at your own risk. Real world
application of this program may cost you your life. Using Atlas for
aviation navigation is in fact illegal. Apart from this, the disclaimer
from the GNU General Public License also applies to Atlas.

fgfs-atlas (0.3.0-2) unstable; urgency=low
* Updated debian/copyright to note that the
render-to-texture code is using a BSD-style license
(which appears to be the zlib/libpng license), in
order to satisfy the Debian ftp admins. (This stuff
is still all covered by the GPL, though, so I don't
see the big deal, but since they insist...)
* Build-Depend on libalut-dev, and simgear 0.3.9-3.

fgfs-atlas (0.3.0-1) unstable; urgency=low
* Initial Release. Closes: #330993.
* Patched configure.ac to use C++ mode when checking
the simgear version (the way simgear is currently
packaged in Debian makes it necessary).
* Added missing libs to a few link command lines.
