Hi everyone, I am going over the 1.2.7-10 package and making a few changes here and there, getting it ready to be uploaded into the archive... I've just got some testing to do.
Regarding package maintainence -- it sounds like a few of you have expressed desire to help and work together and get sponsorship for the package. I am fine with sponsoring the package, if you are prepared to actually maintain it.... Sponsorship for me means meeting a few criteria: 1. conversant in the relevant developer documentation, policy, Developer's Reference and where to find things related to the package. Need to also be on d-d-announce 2. Gotta be lintian, pbuilder and install clean. 3. The package needs to be maintained (bugs should be responded to/fixed; new upstream versions packaged, etc.) 4. and (I'm not really strict on this), intending to join the debian project at some point... I find sponsorship to be a burden on developers and if people aren't ever going to become maintainers that might be a problem in the long term 5. need to have a gpg key... preferably signed by someone in the web of trust If these requirements are too much, and make it not worth you having me sponsor the package, I'd probably prefer to just be the maintainer myself, but would be very happy to have your contributions/improvements and act as co-maintainers! -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
