OK. This sounds good to me. Have you made any progress since you posted the ITA 5 days ago that I should use as a starting point? If not my modus operandi is probably going to be to update to a newer upstream version, probably 2.3.11-rc3. (Given the current slow pace of upstream development I'm more comfortable with packaging an RC release than I would usually be.) I'll then use that as a base to address the bugs currently listed against this package. I'm open to comments on this approach.
