Often when it comes to audio visualisation plugins or programs that create visuals, they depend on a player or something else; basically, there is no general framework that enabled application developers to easily access cool audio visualisation plugins. Libvisual wants to change this by providing an interface towards plugins and applications; through this easy to use interface applications can easily access plugins and, since the drawing is done by the application, it also enables the developer to draw the visual anywhere he wants. . The framework also allows you to morph to different plugins and mix two at once; all kinds of neat tricks are possible using this method. -- Frederik Dannemare | mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=Frederik+Dannemare http://frederik.dannemare.net | http://www.linuxworlddomination.dk --------------------------------------- Received: (at 285702-done) by bugs.debian.org; 15 Dec 2004 13:38:12 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Dec 15 05:38:12 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from cpe.atm0-0-0-2421032.0x3ef2dbfa.arcnxx7.customer.tele.dk (host.kl-teknik.com) [62.242.219.250] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1CeZM4-00019Y-00; Wed, 15 Dec 2004 05:38:12 -0800 Received: from homer.thepenguininvasion.dk (0x5358aaae.abnxx12.adsl-dhcp.tele.dk [::ffff:83.88.170.174]) (AUTH: PLAIN [EMAIL PROTECTED]) by host.kl-teknik.com with esmtp; Wed, 15 Dec 2004 14:38:07 +0100 id 0001378F.41C03E44.0000749F From: Frederik Dannemare <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Whoops, didn't see #285274 (WAS ITP: libvisual -- Audio visualisation library) Date: Wed, 15 Dec 2004 14:38:14 +0100 User-Agent: KMail/1.6.2 Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: X-CrossAssassin-Score: 2 Hi, your ITP didn't show up[1] on http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/being_packaged so I files an ITP myself for libvisual, since I am packaging LiVES which will depend on libvisual. Since you came first, I'll close my ITP. However, do you have an ETA for your libvisual package? [1]and still doesn't - I've seen this problem with other ITPs, including some of my own. Beats me, why this happens...
