Unfortunatly gcc is really slow. Generating dependencies with fastdep is (at least should be) an order of magnitude faster than using gcc. Written in C++ with a handoptimized parser for just the preproccesor tokens, it's no surprise fastdep is fast. Besides that it processes multiple source files at once. When doing so fastdep parses every header file exactly one time and keeps an in memory structure of it. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux zen8100a 2.4.20ctx-16z.3 #1 Mon Jun 2 22:13:30 EST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C --------------------------------------- Received: (at 214408-close) by bugs.debian.org; 4 Jul 2004 14:23:38 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Jul 04 07:23:38 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from popmail.space.net [195.30.0.14] by spohr.debian.org with smtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1Bh7u6-0004x5-00; Sun, 04 Jul 2004 07:23:38 -0700 Received: (qmail 35092 invoked from network); 4 Jul 2004 14:23:35 -0000 Received: from ppp-rl4.spacenet.de (HELO sandbender) (195.30.63.98) by popmail.space.net with SMTP; 4 Jul 2004 14:23:35 -0000 Received: from robertle by sandbender with local (Exim 3.36 #1 (Debian)) id 1Bh7u2-0000oG-00 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sun, 04 Jul 2004 16:23:34 +0200 Date: Sun, 4 Jul 2004 16:23:34 +0200 From: Robert Lemmen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: now ins sarge Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="J/dobhs11T7y2rNN" Content-Disposition: inline X-GPG-Key: http://www.semistable.com/key.txt X-GPG-Fingerprint: 2B12 EC05 12C0 1AE2 5D55 9F3F 4BA0 0E72 145B 6966 dont-send-mail-trap: [EMAIL PROTECTED] User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6+20040523i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: --J/dobhs11T7y2rNN Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-15 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable the package is in sarge now, closing the itp --=20 Robert Lemmen http://www.semistable.com=20 --J/dobhs11T7y2rNN Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFA6BLlS6AOchRbaWYRAqMdAKCKL9hn5vWaSw21jCOZkNwP3hE0WwCdHe1y FWAxYJmCj81Ku8rs/B+FCNU= =5uL+ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --J/dobhs11T7y2rNN--
