Description : development version of midnight commander

I was quite used to nc in my dos times, so mc is the main tool I use
on my Debian system. Therefore I'm a bit worried that mc in Debian is
in a really bad state:

 Last developer package:
 [2001-09-02] Installed mc 4.5.55-1 (i386 source)

 Last NMU:
 [2002-02-21] Installed mc 4.5.55-1.2 (i386 source)

I have to admit that mc project has been dead for some time, but now
it's now working and releasing new versions:

 Last version 4.6.0-pre1 (released August 21, 2002)
 Last snapshot: mc-2002-11-17-07.tar.gz

Since 4.5.55 (Debian last release) MANY things happened. First of all
support for gmc (which is now replaced by nautilus) was depreciated -
so the gnome code was removed from upstream archive, and division to 3
differen packages (mc-common, mc, gmc) is no longer needed. There were
also many code cleanups and fixes, and many bugs have been resolved.

I've contacted mc DD's at [EMAIL PROTECTED] on 7
Nov - haven't got any reply yet - looks like there are MIA.

So I decided to create my own package with new mc - first of all for
my home use, but I consider uploading to Debian archive.

I called it mc-cvs for now, but maybe mc-devel or mc-snapshot will be
better...

PLEASE CC to my address, I don't read this list on regular basis

No point in having separate CVS package as the CVS development is
nearly dead :(
