this is an update on information on djohn packaging. Currently djohn can't be uploaded in debian because it uses the last john version which is newer of the one currently in debian. The main difference is that in the new version you can specify your own john.ini with a environ variable, whilte the one in debian doesn't. Djohn uses this feature to create a particular john.ini to make john work in external method, so untile there isn't the newer version in debian, or the current version will be patched it's futile to upload it. Currently i have no free time to spend on to look how to patch john, therefore i retitle the ITP to RFP so if there's someone that wants to package it will be free to do that.
