This script is a wrapper for dcraw, specifically for Canon cameras. Some Canon cameras (eg S50, 10D) contain tilt sensors and store orientation (eg portrait, landscape) information in the EXIF data. As well as the .CRW raw file a .THM file (actually jpeg format) is created when using the canon in RAW mode. dcrawcanon uses EXIF information from the .THM file to rotate the dcraw processed .CRW file to to the correct orientation for displaying with your favourite viewer.
