It's made up out two applications: a DVD reader and a DIVX encoder. The reader is a GUI for the GNOME environment, the DIVX encoder a text mode tool. You wont have to learn to use the textmode tool, because the GUI also is a frontend for it. (please package them as separate binaries) Drip is not yet usable for NTSC (Region1) DVDs because those are prepared differently as PAL DVDs. This package is more useful with libdvdcss (ITP#154281) so that you can make backup copies of the DVDs you legaly own despite of that annoying CSS protection. Even though, it's pointful to have it without libdvdcss, for example to rip dvds without CSS protection or for general divx encoding, so there's no need to wait for it. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux aragorn 2.2.21 #1 Thu Aug 8 13:53:32 CEST 2002 i586 Locale: LANG=ca_ES.ISO-8859-1, LC_CTYPE=ca_ES.ISO-8859-1 -- no debconf information --------------------------------------- Received: (at 156287-close) by bugs.debian.org; 28 Jan 2004 06:23:16 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 27 22:23:16 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from newraff.debian.org [208.185.25.31] (mail) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1Alj6a-0000ie-00; Tue, 27 Jan 2004 22:23:16 -0800 Received: from rdonald by newraff.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1Aliyb-0008AG-00; Wed, 28 Jan 2004 01:15:01 -0500 From: Robert Millan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: lisa $Revision: 1.26 $ Subject: Bug#156287: fixed in drip 0.8.3.2+0.9.0-rc1-2 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Randall Donald <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Wed, 28 Jan 2004 01:15:01 -0500 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_01_27 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_01_27 X-Spam-Level: Source: drip Source-Version: 0.8.3.2+0.9.0-rc1-2 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of drip, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: drip_0.8.3.2+0.9.0-rc1-2.diff.gz to pool/main/d/drip/drip_0.8.3.2+0.9.0-rc1-2.diff.gz drip_0.8.3.2+0.9.0-rc1-2.dsc to pool/main/d/drip/drip_0.8.3.2+0.9.0-rc1-2.dsc drip_0.8.3.2+0.9.0-rc1-2_i386.deb to pool/main/d/drip/drip_0.8.3.2+0.9.0-rc1-2_i386.deb drip_0.8.3.2+0.9.0-rc1.orig.tar.gz to pool/main/d/drip/drip_0.8.3.2+0.9.0-rc1.orig.tar.gz A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
