Hello, For record, kameleon is the OS image builder used in the Grid'5000 research infrastructure (https://www.grid5000.fr).
It has been used for more than 10 years to build various flavors of Debian, Ubuntu, RH-like images, which are deployed on cluster nodes (server machines, x86/arm64/ppc64) bare metal (kadeploy) or VMs. https://www.grid5000.fr/w/Environment_creation A deb package is already provided in Grid'5000, but having it in official Debian would benefit to users outside. The tool is generic, thus can be used in many other contexts. Hope it gets accepted soon.
