Hi, Lots of people needs proprietary ATI FireGL/Radeon driver these days, because open source DRI driver doesn't support new ATI hardware (9500 or newer). In new interview with Terry Makedon from ATi I've read, that "We have good relationships with the Major vendors. [..] SuSE, Gentoo (and soon Debian) repackage our drivers for use within their distributions." ( whole article is here: http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NjQ2 )
According to Terry Makedon from ATi, Debian will soon repackage ATI drivers, but I didn't found any official debian packages, only unofficial packages here: http://xoomer.virgilio.it/flavio.stanchina/debian/fglrx-installer.html Maybe there are some plans to move these packages to debian ? At least into debian experimental if these packages are not good enough quality. -- Good luck, Mantas Kriaučiūnas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Jabber ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Public organization "Open Source for Lithuania" - www.akl.lt
