From the README: For years, the de-facto standard to hash passwords was passlib. Unfortunately, it has not been very active recently and its maintenance status is under question. Starting Python 3.13, passlib won't work anymore. That's why I decided to start pwdlib, a password hash helper for the modern Python era. However, it's not designed to be a complete replacement for passlib, which supports numerous hashing algorithms and features. The original passlib project (https://foss.heptapod.net/python-libs/passlib) is currently unmaintained s. https://foss.heptapod.net/python-libs/passlib/-/issues/187 pwdlib seems to be a vital and maintained project. Some rdepends of passlib have already switched pwdlib. Tryton will use it starting from version 7.6. https://foss.heptapod.net/tryton/tryton/-/merge_requests/2022/commits S.a. https://github.com/frankie567/pwdlib/discussions/1 -- Mathias Behrle PGP/GnuPG key availabable from any keyserver, ID: 0xD6D09BE48405BBF6 AC29 7E5C 46B9 D0B6 1C71 7681 D6D0 9BE4 8405 BBF6
