Is there some reason why you did not import the upstream commit history? I find it a little bit unusual to see new packages that omit this.
The proposed Go Team workflow changes [1] suggest that the upstream commit history should be included (dh-make-golang -upstream_git_history flag). Even the previous (and still in force) workflow guidelines mandate that the upstream commit history should be preserved.
