Asmc is written in its masm syntax, so it can't be build in Debian box. asmc-linux has same functionality from Asmc, but its written in GNU assembler. So, asmc-linux can be build in Debian box. asmc-linux is needed to build 7zip. 7zip can be use hand-optimized assembler code for faster operations. Some users wants to use assembler code for that.
