It also supplies a PAP compliant printer server (papd), a time server (timelord), and an Apple II netboot server (a2boot). In addition, a suite of tools for classic Mac file formats, AppleTalk networking, and PostScript printing is included. Unlike Netatalk 3, it retains the AppleTalk network layer, which allows it to server as a bridge between older Mac and Apple II clients, with the latest macOS clients. I intend to leverage the existing pkg-netatalk-devel team for maintaining the package, including volunteering my own effort.

--- Begin Message ---Closing my own packaging request for a "netatalk2" package. Earlier in 2024, we succeeded in the netatalk development team to forward-port the core netatalk2 featureset to netatalk3, resulting in netatalk4 which has now been packaged for Debian. As a result, the netatalk2 release series has been obsoleted. https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/netatalksignature.asc
