You don’t need to re-introduce it, Jonathan took care to ensure that the package wouldn’t be fully removed, as explained in the blog post. If you want to go ahead with this, you should close the ITP (which isn’t needed), update #1078599 to indicate you intend to adopt the package, and when you upload a new package, close #1078599 in the changelog.
