As libest is quite useful and so far it appears that no similiar EST library is available in Debian I would like to take maintainership. Earlier, I already did a packaging for my workplace where we will use EST on a regular base. I'm not a Debian maintainer, but Christoph (Cc'd) has offered to sponsor an upload.
