Package: wnpp Version: unavailable; reported 2003-10-13 Severity: normal
I plan to retire from Debian at the end of this year, and therefore I'm offering my packages for adoption. The rlwrap package provides a small utility that uses the GNU readline library to allow the editing of keyboard input for any other command. Input history is remembered across invocations, separately for each command; history completion and search work as in bash and completion word lists can be specified on the command line. The rlwrap utility is especially useful for applications that do not come with their own readline support. Maintaining rlwrap is a very easy job that would fit even novide maintainers. The package uses debhelper, and the diff does not include anything but the Debian control files. The source itself uses a standard GNU autotools build mechanism. The only bug that was ever filed against rlwrap was fixed with the last upstream release. The new version of the package has already been built successfully on all platforms. Best, Marco PS.
