Solanum is an IRCv3 server designed to be highly scalable. It implements IRCv3.1 and some parts of IRCv3.2. It is meant to be used with an IRCv3-capable services implementation such as Atheme or Anope. ---- Solanum is the Charybdis fork that has been built, launched, and used by the Libera.chat folks during the upheaval that ultimately led to freenode's death. From what I understand the OFTC people are also involved. Charybdis has been removed from Debian in #1017344 with the understanding that it would be replaced by Solanum. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Solanum team is making official releases just yet.
